And the Winner Is...

Carol of Stitching Dreams... you are the winner of the box of fabric scraps. Thank you all for leaving a comment and requesting your name to be part of the draw. I wish I could send you all boxes of scraps.
I've sent Carol an e-mail asking her to send me her mailing address. If you didn't get my e-mail Carol... please let me know where to send the box.

Have you all been enjoying the Olympics? I've spent countless hours glued to the TV watching the coverage. Of course I couldn't let such an event pass by without starting a brand new stitching project, because I don't have enough projects started, in honor of the Sochi Games.

I've been wanting to stitch Susan Singleton for some time now and she was my first choice for my Olympic sampler.

Susan Singleton - The Scarlet Letter
I'm stitching Susan on 40ct. Lakeside Vintage Chantilly Creme linen with AVAS silks. I wonder how much I'll get stitched by the end of the Closing Ceremonies?

Before the start of the Games I put in a few more stitches on A Parrot, A Leopard, A Lion.

A Parrot, A Leopard, A Lion - The Scarlet Letter
I've been working on some Finishing projects and had hoped to have more completed by now. I do have one to share with you today.

Strawberry Marking Sampler Bag

Two new patterns were released for the Blogger Girls II BOM. These blocks are so much fun to piece together.  I used the Open Gate Fit to be Geese ruler for the flying geese blocks. It's a wonderful ruler and you can't help but make perfect flying geese blocks with the aid of the ruler.

When I saw the beautiful Fussy Cut Stars that Margaret, Days of a Sampler Lover, was making I wanted to join in on the fun. Temecula Quilt Company is responsible for starting us both down the path of Fussy Cut Fridays.

If I make two more fussy cut stars this coming week I'll be caught up!

My local frame shop called earlier this week and two of my samplers were framed and ready to be picked up. I'm very happy with the framing for both Emma Miles and Jacob's Ladder.

Until next time.... happy stitching and quilting!

Oh, I'm so very excited to see my name, Laurie--I know I'll have a great time using those scraps when I finish off my little pillows! Just sent my address to you--thanks so much for the wonderful news :)

Your work is so lovely--the little bag is wonderful and I so admire those fussy cut stars. Someday, maybe I'll learn to do more handwork as I always admire anything having to do with quilts.

I just watched the USA beat Russia in hockey--what a game!

Love the photo of Owen in the snow in your header... We have so much snow here he would be up to his ears :)

Thanks again, Laurie--you really made my day!

I love those fussy cut fabrics. Your samplers are stunning. The shading in the Parrot piece is too tedious for this wimp to stitch but SO beautiful.

I have the Fit to Be Geese rulers but haven't used them. Glad to hear you love them - I've not had a loving relationship with Flying Geese in my quilting "career".

Lots of stitching goodies in this post - your framing choices are wonderful! You've also finished your Strawberry Marking bag beautifully.

Laurie,
Love your bag finishing and those framed samplers are gorgeous! You have a great framer. Mine has closed so looking for a new one.

I also love your cute finish from Brenda in your last post. So you were one of the lucky ones to purchase this sweet kit. I loved it but didn't get in on time to order. It is darling!!!

Hope to see you soon. Maybe spring will show up for our March meeting???

I must have forgotten about that Jacob's ladder - so gorgeous! Emma Miles is pretty too - love the frame on that one. Your (and Margarets) fussy cut stars are so beautiful - I so wish I had time to quilt but I just can't seem to add that in. Love the strawberry sampler bag - that fabric is perfect. Your new starts are wonderful - I had Susan Singleton on my list but now there is all this market stuff grabbing for attention. Always a pleasure to visit your blog Laurie - so much lovely work and great inspiration. Mel
