New Year, New Projects

I put my forced indoor confinement, due to the frigidly cold weather, to good use. I've fallen head over heals in love with Lakeside Linen's Legacy 50 ct, unevenweave linen and Tudor Silks. It's an absolute pleasure to stitch with the Tudor Silks and I love the look of the stitching on the high count linen.

Ann Thompson - Scarlet Letter - Lakeside Legacy V. Lt. Examplar - Tudor Silks

A Parrot, A Leopard, A Lion - Scarlet Letter - Lakeside Legacy 50 ct. V. Pecan Butter - Tudor Silks

Margaret, Days of a Sampler Lover, and I plan to use the PLL design for the top and front panels of our Cabinet of Curiosities.

I've also been working on a couple of quilting projects. First up is another mini quilt from the Fresh Mini Quilt Club. The white mirror ball fabric just adds that bit of frosty sparkle to the quilt.

Owen's Kiss Kiss Quilt

While searching for fabrics for another project I came across a tote bag that contained fabrics I had bought to make a quilt for Owen's throne chair. After seeing Michele's, Cozy Egg, mini Kiss Kiss quilt I knew that would be the perfect pattern for Owen's quilt. Thank you Tula Pink for pdf patterns. When you're ready to make a quilt it's so nice to be able to instantly download the pattern.

Good grief. I need a magnifier to see the weave in your PHOTOS! Not sure I could ever use such a high count but it's magnificent. Your stitches are just so perfect. Owen's quilt is a riot! I love it.

I'm glad to hear you love the 50 count as I have some on the way. What needle are you using?

I'm looking forward to seeing your Cabinet of Curiosities. That is an awesome box - loved reading about the construction.

My sister, who lives just north of you, said it was -22 last Monday! Makes me glad I don't live in the Midwest anymore.

Love all your projects! The fabric for Owen's quilt is just perfect.

I'm in love with everything you are doing, but that's always true. OMG, I'm so excited about PLL!!! It's good you're ahead of me -- you get the hard part of figuring out where to split the design and all. lol! Owen's pillow -- is that a doggie bed?? He's such a cutie!

I have a friend that had a recent trip to the Attic over the holidays and she says the same about the Legacy linen. Your stitching and silks are certainly beautiful! And a cabinet of curiosities! SWEET! :) Can't wait to see what you and Margaret create! It will certainly tickle my curiosity ;)
Owen's Kiss Kiss quilt is perfect for his throne. Thanks for sharing all your pretties with us today!

Oh Laurie so pretty!!!!! My poor little eyes are struggling with the 50 count linen. Not sure it's going to work for me but I'd sure like it too, LOL.

Laurie, You ARE still blogging! How come you don't come up in my blogger reader? I just tried to re-follow you, but I don't see how to do that. Anyway, I see you are doing Ann Thompson. I had started her, and the friend I was going to do a stitch along with never even bought the pattern, grrrr, and I just put it away this evening! I need a partner! I was thinking about you and was going to write you on your old blog and say I missed you, and it directed me here.
Hugs,
Melinda
